You Are Here
A cosmic journey for ages 4–8

From the edge of the universe
to you.

“You Are Here” is a free web app that zooms, step by step, from the universe to the Milky Way, the Solar System, Earth, Japan, your hometown — and on into your own body. Every word is read aloud, so children who can’t read yet can explore on their own.

No ads. No accounts. No tracking inside the app. Works offline after the first visit. Switch the language to English in the app menu (🌐).

01

Seven nested steps

Galaxy → Solar System → Earth → country → prefecture → you → your body. Kids feel how each place sits inside the next — their own “cosmic address.”

02

Thousands of recorded voice clips

Planets, countries and greetings, the heart and lungs — narrated in natural English and Japanese voices, all recorded in advance.

03

Made to hand to your child

No ads, no sign-up, no GPS. Progress stays on the device. Sending, saving or printing a card needs a quick grown-up check.

What kids do

  • Explore the Sun, planets and moons, constellations with star-aligned artwork, countries and flags, a satellite 3D map of Japan, and 16 parts of the body
  • Quiz with 3-choice questions and gentle step-by-step hints — plus a family quiz where the child asks the grown-up
  • Play six games, including Scale Ladder (put the galaxy, Earth, Japan and you into nested rings) and Star Dot-to-Dot
  • Make a cosmic address card and your own constellations

For classrooms and homeschoolers

Group Mode puts the journey and a big 3-choice quiz (Red vs. Blue) on a projector. It fits a Montessori-style cosmic education introduction for younger children, and pairs well with the free Cosmic Address worksheet.

Made in Japan by a father for his son. Some Japan-specific content (prefectures) is in the map layers; the universe, Earth and body layers work for families anywhere.
